Staff at Rapierstar have donated a trolley full of presents to help make sure disadvantaged children and adults in its local area do not go without this Christmas. The team at Rapierstarl took part in the ‘Deliver Joy this Christmas’ campaign organised by the retailer Dunelm at its store in Stoke-on-Trent.
Rapierstar’s supply chain reliability and excellent stock availability is helping Universal Products, one of Ireland’s largest window and door hardware distributors, to grow its online service and cement its position as the country’s go-to supplier for the highest quality hardware brands.
Universal Products, serving customers since 1993, operates from a 15,000 sq. ft HQ and distribution centre in Dublin and supplies window and door fabricators across the whole of Ireland. It has partnered with Rapierstar as its primary window fastener supplier for more than 18 years, offering the complete range of StarPVCU fasteners which are available to customers with next day delivery.
Rapierstar has continued its support for GM Fundraising and their programme of activities to raise money for Hope House Children’s Hospices by hosting a golf day for those set to take part in the charity’s major fundraising golf event in 2023.
Sixteen golfers were hosted by Rapierstar, representing businesses from all areas of the window and door industry, in a one-day practice session in glorious sunshine at the impressive Astbury Golf Club in South Cheshire.
One of Ireland’s leading trade window and door manufacturers, Super Seal Window Systems, has passed the 25 year milestone using Rapierstar fasteners throughout its PVCu fabrication and assembly. The County Londonderry based company, which supplies windows and doors to installers across Ireland, was established in 1990 and continues to go from strength to strength.
Rapierstar is providing specialist technical guidance and products to profine UK, as part of a package of services for its new training and product development centre at its Nottinghamshire factory. The international profile manufacturer has been continuously investing in their established UK window & door systems, KÖMMERLING C70 & O70, Premiline 80 patio, Legend, Vertical Slider and Warmcore, since it acquired their new site in 2020.
One of Ireland’s leading hardware distributors to the window and door industry, Fortus Hardware, is partnering with Rapierstar to ensure its fabricator and installer customers can depend on a secure, reliable supply of high quality fasteners to keep their businesses on track.
Part of the Profast Group, which has been distributing a wide range of essential products to the industrial and construction sectors for more than 30 years, Fortus Hardware works with many of Ireland’s windowmakers, large and small.
Specialist fastener supplier Rapierstar has stepped in to keep production on track and help maintain quality consistency at Nationwide Windows and Doors after its supplier of over 20 years made the sudden announcement that it was withdrawing from the UK market.
In the space of just a week, Rapierstar was able to ensure supply continuity by identifying all the fastener requirements across Nationwide’s factory in Rugby, and deliver new stock of the 50 different types of fasteners it uses.
Fabricators will need to review which fasteners they use throughout window and door assemblies to ensure they meet the proposed new minimum security and thermal standards for England and Wales.
This year is set to see an updated Part L of the Building Regulations put in place which will require windows and doors to meet lower overall window U-values. And there are proposals floated too, relating to higher security standards, which could see Part Q updated to require that all windows and doors meet the security performance requirements in the PAS.
